I ink with a Windsor Newton series 7 size 000 brush. Of course I use India Ink and after inking, I wait several hours before erasing my pencil lines and then I scan. I scan in grayscale at 300 dpi. In larger areas of black, I 'cheat' and use a thick sharpie to conserve ink. As you can see, there is a slight difference in the black, but some level adjustment can fix that.
